Our growing population means greater impact on our forests, parks, beaches, and waters. Increased tourism means more traffic, more garbage, more stress on wildlife, and more demand for marina space. Rising prices for land mean increased pressure on a shrinking agriculture base and less affordable housing, while more development means higher taxes to pay for roads, law enforcement, and schools. FRIENDS of the San Juans is working to protect the quality of life of all of our islands' residents through support of comprehensive planning, marine research, and conservation education and stewardship.

If you're not yet a member of FRIENDS, we'd love to have you join us. If you're already a FRIENDS member, please continue to renew your membership - we can't afford to lose you. If your membership has lapsed, we'd be delighted to welcome you back.

We offer regular membership rates for Individuals or Families, and also a Student/Low Income rate. Membership in our Blue Heron Club, a group of supporters who offer their vision and commitment to the future of the San Juans, is given to those who contribute at higher rates. All members receive our newsletter, announcements, and invitations to special events. Contributions are tax-deductible.

If you'd like to help us with a donation, you can be sure it will be put to good use in protecting our precious islands. While FRIENDS is financially stronger today than at any previous point in our history, demands on our finances are increasing ever faster as we respond to the pressures on our islands and waters.

All members will receive our member updates, newsletter, and a Friends of San Juans decal. Your membership gift is tax deductible to the fullest extent allowable by law.All memberships (except lifetime members) need to be renewed annually.

Tax Deductible Giving - In addition to check or credit card donations; we welcome gifts of stock, real estate, or vehicles; or in-kind contributions of goods or services. In addition, by including FRIENDS in your will, you can be sure of ongoing support for our programs.
